Nils Hübinette received his main vocal training by Kammersänger Professor Roland Schubert at Die Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig. He previously got his main stage training at the Stockholm Operastudio, and was also a student at the University College of Opera in Stockholm.
Born in Uppsala, Sweden, Nils started out as an instrumentalist, playing the piano and the double bass in various jazz and symphony orchestras, as well as singing in choirs. After five years of studies at the Stockholm School of Economics (BSc and MSc in Finance), he began taking singing lessons at the age of 24.
He regurlarly sings from the standard song cycles by Schubert and Schumann, as well as performs as a soloist in the standard oratorios by J.S. Bach. Plus, operetta is also a beloved part of his repertoire. He did for example Symon in Der Bettelstudent as final production at the HMT in Leipzig. Later in June 2019, he will do Königssohn in Königskinder by Humperdinck, produced by Stadt Leipzig. Other opera roles include Albert Herring (Britten), Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, and Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail. He has previously performed the 4th Jew in Salome at the Royal Opera in Stockholm.
